In the aftermath of the devastating fire, which destroyed the original 1963 Nelson Bay Golf Clubhouse, the only option left was to rebuild. The architecture of the new clubhouse was developed to ‘hero’ the 27-hole golf course, and provide quality facilities for members.
Great effort was taken to provide uninterrupted views of the course from the inside of the clubhouse. The open areas showcase beautiful vistas complemented by an interior palette that emphasizes the natural setting and tranquil atmosphere. Facilities include a warm, inviting Cafe, Member’s Lounge, Dining Room, Function Rooms, TAB, Gaming Room and generous balconies. Member’s amenities are located on the Lower Ground Floor near the club’s Pro Shop.
The new facilities have been warmly commended by its members and attracted thousands of new member registrations since its opening. For those deeply saddened by the loss of the original club the new clubhouse has been “worth the wait”.
