GLEN SPICER

DIRECTOR

Glen is an experienced Architect with over 25 years experience in the construction industry. He joined EJE in 1996 after working in a London architectural practice and was appointed to the position of Associate in 1999 and became Director in 2008.

Glen has lived and travelled extensively overseas which has helped to broaden his design knowledge. His experience extends across most sectors of the industry, from Commercial and Public Buildings, Education, Aged Care, Multi-Residential, Industrial, Libraries, Childcare, and Office Fitouts. Glen’s talents lie in providing a unique and different design solution to each project, a solution that meets the brief requirements and that takes advantage and makes the most of a site’s potential. He looks to see the opportunity in every design problem and incorporates Environmentally Sensitive Design principles within each project.

Glen recently sat on the Newcastle City Council Urban Design Review Panel where he was part of a group reviewing multi-residential and other major projects for SEPP 65 compliance. Glen was Chairman of the Newcastle Division of the Institute of Architects from 2007 – 2011 and has been a professional Industry Adviser to a variety of local Councils on development controls. Glen is an active committee member of the Property Council and as a member of their Regional Taskforce, participated in the USA Study tour and played a key role in the development of the Property Council’s submission to Urban Growth titled ‘Maximum Opportunity’, showing the redevelopment of the Newcastle Heavy Rail corridor and extension of the Light Rail Network. As an active member of the Construction Industry, Glen aims to improve the built environment in a positive and sustainable way for everyone.
