This mid-century inspired residence in the Hunter Valley raises the standard of residential design for the area. Careful consideration was given in determining the location, site layout, dwelling design and landscaping to ensure that the residence met the day to day requirements of the Smith Family.
The proposal sits within The Vintage Golf Resort in Rothbury, an established residential subdivision that allows for permanent residents, in conjunction with an international golf course designed by Greg Norman. The house design takes cues from its orientation and golf course surrounds, whilst giving respectful attention to its context and neighbours in terms of bulk and scale.
The residence is a two storey home with four bedrooms, plunge pool and double car garage. It is contemporary in its design with simple and efficient planning, and high end finishes throughout. Included in the design are extensive amounts of glazing and operable stacking doors, enabling the building to be opened up to capture prevailing breezes whilst maintaining visual privacy. Ground floor living areas open out to a private outdoor north facing terrace and pool. The landscape design utilises contrasting forms and stone textures, along with Australian native plant species which respond comfortably to the location of the immediate area.
